Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to achieve final game in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a huge pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the best gamblers around the world. While playing net poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. He regularly competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus more often than not buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very weak. He waits for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has no reason to settle at the game with the min buy-in.
Playing for the min takes almost all of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amt..
